Kilian family

Hancock, NY – The hearts of our community go out to the family of local coach and father Jessie Kilian, who suffered a catastrophic car accident earlier this week. Jessie, well-known for his tireless dedication to youth sports and for being a full-time provider for his family, is currently in intensive care with a severe spinal cord injury and remains in a coma for an undetermined length of time.

Jessie is husband to Mary Kilian and father to three young children—Kira, Jimi and Jack—and the sudden injury to the family’s primary breadwinner leaves them facing overwhelming uncertainty. Mary will now be juggling hospital visits, the children’s ongoing needs and the day-to-day support that was once Jessie’s to provide.

As the Kilian family begins the long journey of recovery and adjustment, the community is stepping in. A support page has been launched on the platform Give InKind to coordinate meals, household assistance, grocery gift cards and other essentials: freshly cooked or frozen meals, easy-to-make dinners, kid-friendly snacks and drinks, and household staples.

Any contribution, large or small, will help ease the family’s burden and allow them to focus on healing and each other.

We invite our community members to help in three ways:

  1. Pray for Jessie’s healing and the family’s strength through this crisis.
  2. Share the news of this support initiative to help reach more people.
  3. Contribute either by signing up to provide meals, donating gift cards, or offering household/pantry support through the Give InKind page.

In times like these, community matters more than ever. Let’s rally around the Kilian family, showing them that they are not alone—and that our town stands with them every step of the way.
